WORKSHOP COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND HEALTH
14 JUNE 2010, STOCKPORT, UK
A workshop on community engagement and health was organised by EHMA and the Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council on 14 June. The event was run as part of EHMA's Policy into Practice Programme.
The workshop brought a team from Gothenburg, Sweden over to Stockport to discuss effective citizen engagement in practice. The team is currently designing and building a new hospital -Angereds Närsjukhus- in the city of Gothenburg based on the needs of the population by putting the opinions of patients and citizens central to the development of plans for the new hospital.
Together with the Swedish team, 45 delegates from Stockport with a direct role in community engagement and health improvement explored how to optimise citizen engagement in deprived areas of Stockport.
